The haveli courtyards work as
perfect auditoriums
Celebrations inevitably happen when there is togetherness and an important reason for filling the haveli is to have a house full of people for spontaneous celebrations.
There are so many perfect spaces of great size at our haveli that our celebrations have the potential to become a fully fledged cultural Festival.
Our courtyards work as perfect auditoriums to hold musical recitations and fascinating dance dramas because they provide superb acoustic effects, a dramatic and magical backdrop and a simple but comfortable seating plan for the audience.
The invited performers stay on the Haveli premises and everyone present becomes a part of giant family.
Courtyards adjacent to the main auditorium work as places for informal gatherings - spaces to welcome local invitees, food preparation and dining. So over the few days of our festivals, whatever part of the event you are involved in, you will always feel connected and a part of the main event.
The Haveli atmosphere we’re creating takes inspiration from the Shrinathji Temple of Nathdwara in Rajasthan.
This Temple is completely devoted to the tradition of Pushtimargi Bhakti - devotion to Lord Krishna as an eight year old child - and the devotees will spend many, many hours living and worshipping within the temple courtyards.
The hauntingly beautiful music performed at this time is Haveli Sangeet which is popularly known and loved as a Krishna Bhakti stream of Indian (Hindustani) classical music.
With so much happening round the clock, this Temple is not just a place of worship, it actually becomes like a haveli or home.
We are now creating this inspirational atmosphere in our own haveli, introducing through all the senses, a passion for our culture that can for some almost reach the scale of being divine.
